Sizing
When selecting medallions for any room, the size/diameter should be based primarily on the room size and ceiling height, although other variables will apply. Items such as size and scale of your choice of light fixture, furniture, and crown moulding will play a factor although it is best to make your selection based on the style and shape that works best with your home’s design.

A rule of thumb - for a dining room or bedroom choose a medallion approximately the diameter of the light fixture – it can be slightly larger or smaller. A simple formula for a room with a 8’ – 9’ ceiling height is … multiply the length of your room (in feet) by the width of the room (in feet) and divide by 7. This gives you a suggestion for the dimension in inches of a well proportioned medallion.

In a front entry or mulitple storey foyers where ceiling heights are generally higher, ceiling medallions can be considerably larger than the width of the fixture.

Turn one of our smaller medallion designs (26 1/2" - 32 1/2" diameter) into a large 45" or 60" size medallion with our one of a kind enhancer. Perfect for large chandeliers found in a 2 or 3 storey foyers.
